Hello LJ Land

Ros was over Sunday night, and we watched some of the VMA awards. Both of us had the same 1 line review...though Ros came up with the catchy phrase:  Mtv has ADD. I felt like aside from the Chris Brown show, the only other performers I liked were the Foo Fighters. Wow am I old.

Somebody at work told me Chris Brown is only like 18. Is that right?
I don't think we're as old as we think we are. I think the audiences for MTV compared to VH1 have lowered by pretty much a whole generation.
It really seems like MTV caters to the 12-23 year olds and doesn't go much higher than that. VH1 appeals to a broader audience...they attract anywhere from 20s to 40s.
It seems surprising on one hand that so many successful touring acts are the bands that have been around 15+ years...but I think that's only because there's nobody there to replace them. There's a lot of garbage out there. At the risk of sounding old myself, I truly believe the overall quality of music has taken a faceplant since around 2002 or so.
