What to do with a rainbow scarf, to make it 'special'?

I thought of a ruffled edging, but my beta testers (one a knitter, one who wouldn't touch the needles if you paid her) said no.

What about:

• Sequins (I would never)
• Beads
• Applique 
• Fringe (oh-so-mundane for a scarf)
• Top-stiching - random

I'd have to see the scarf again to be sure, but the ones that jump out at me are beads, top-stitching of words or a picture (maybe a bird?), or beads in fringe. I'll be anxious to see what you pick (and to see the final scarf) :)
