My Drawing final project

My drawing final project had to be a self portrait, using Conte Crayon or Charcoal. I much prefer pencil, and I have a lot of trouble drawing with both of them, but I gave it my best shot, and it this what I came got.

I like it. I think you've got a good eye for light, which makes sense, with your photography background. It hasn't really transformed into a sophisticated sense of form, but that's not a problem because the foundations for forms have all been laid. I didn't really start understanding the way a face was shaped until just this semester, and I've been at this bullcrap for years. T__T So good job! Turn it in and be proud!

I love it! Wonderful lighting and definitely a resemblance. It has a lot of energy coming out of it from the background lines. I think you may want to check the width of the neck, and maybe a little more eyebrow? I know you'll get a good grade!! :D
