I’m not going to lie. They were painful to look at. So many stupid mistakes, so many embarrassing typos and repetitions, so many major rewrites to do and so very many plot holes needing to be filled

Thanks for sharing. This is really interesting. It's like a masterclass on novel writing. I'm having enough trouble getting a first draft together. If I ever get to the stage that you are at then I won't be panicking quite so hard because I will remind myself about you going through all this.

It sounds like you've got a sensible, manageable approach worked out there. I watch and I learn!

What's killing me is that this story has been through a million rewrites and has a large handful of people picking it apart for me over the years, and still...

It's really a wonder that anything gets published ever.

I have so much respect for you going through all of this and coming out alive! Looking over first drafts of mine usually cripples me and I don't even have a professional editor leaving me notes. You can totally do this. :)

Hee, that's the sort of melodrama I was wasting away in! What helped though, is that I remembered that probably a good chunk of the books in the bookstores had to get that first round of heart-wrenching, soul-sucking humiliation (or probably should have). :))

♥ Seriously, I was soooo embarrassed by some of these errors. Like, so much so that I had to make sure that I hadn't sent the wrong copy, the one that hadn't been combed over and over again. :(( I'm still not convinced that I didn't.

♥♥ Chocolate Vodka is clearly called for! Though, hopefully that drinking game will get you much less drunk on the second read through. :))
