Organizations, groups and guilds, your thoughts?

I’m asking this not only because I’m too lazy/broke to go and procure a Writer’s Market or other type book, but also because I’d rather have real people who I can interact with and question further their opinions than just a bunch of random lists of way too many places with no real sense of pros vs. cons of each

I haven't joined any yet, but I will join the SFWA, the BFS, and probably a few others down the line.

Yes. SFWA looks so awesome I wished I wrote Sci-fi just so I can join. :))

I love workshops! You're in one that you had to be invited into? That would be sort of amazing. Then you know the level of dedication and skill. ♥ The writer's groups I've been a part of have been a bit of both of your groups. We get together (usually every two weeks) and read our writing aloud and give each other feedback. I like the prompt idea though. I should start a group that does that. :))

Yeah. I need to join some organizations and whatnot... I want to do a regional one since as much as I move all over the country, most of my stories take place in the west. I also think a women's group would be a good one too. Solidarity YO! Other than that...????
