Can you use left-click on the file and open it with a different program?
Or can you ask your dad?

Err...... *thinks* real format as in the file type? if that's the case, you should be able to switch it to whatever file type your iPod uses. (don't have an iPod, so I don't know what that is.)

otherwise, yeah, I'd go for the 'ask-your-dad' plan.
