"This paper claims to question...." presents a weak opening. Be strong!... you aren't claiming to question, you are questioning. Perhaps "This paper questions" or "This paper intends to question" instead?
"It is motivated as a search for an alternative source of power." I'm not sure if you are saying that you hope that the finds presented in this essay will motivate a search for an alternative source of power, or if your investigation and presentation of this essay was motivated by a search for an alternative source of power.
If you meant the former, I would suggest "This paper is intended to motivate the search for an alternative source of power."
If you meant the latter, I would suggest "It was motivated by the search for an alternative source of power."
"None was found" should be "Neither were found ( ... )
