As often happens, nature shows that it can do a better job of managing itself than man can. I was reading that at Mount St. Helens (major volcanic explosion) areas that didn't have man's clean-up and intervention recovered more quickly than those that did.

amazing! i didn't know that. what i do know is that the parts of the coast along the Indian Ocean that still had living mangrove on them, suffered much less damage and recovered quicker from the tsunami. nature knows best!
