I somehow doubt that the smell of burning wood comes from the chimneys, only few people heat with wood or have an open fireplace or tile stove (I like tile stoves though, my father has one in his apartment, he lives in Schaffhausen - have you ever been there, or at the Rhinefall?)
Wow this helps a lot, thank you! It's fun trying to decipher the German phrases :) Yeah, I found out later on that the smell actually came from this wood factory looking place, wonder what they're doing burning wood... And no I've not been to both those places! After acquiring a map and basic German skills I'll definitely explore around, today I walked around Bethlehem.
That would be lovely! But first let me at least have some basic German so that I can talk to you, I have to figure out how the train and bus systems work as well :)
Marché! I quite like that place! Wait, are you in Germany to stay?? O_O Like Elizabeth Gilbert, who went to Italy to learn Italian? =_= Sorry but I'm so confused on what's going on with your life, eek!
Yes!! Today I woke up at 5am @__@ I wonder if it's the cold that's exhausting me, once it's 9+pm I get super tired! OMG -10 degrees....I'll never leave the house... Is Belgium this cold too?? Yeah, but I'm worried that I won't have a sturdy foundation because I'm just catching up in class, maybe I should switch to the basic class, hmm.
9th till 11th April right? I should be available then, omg so excited!! :D

If you have time for an excursion at some point I can show you Schaffhausen - it's about two hours by train away from Bern.
