Blooming things and things like that

Spring: it is SPRING! Last night I saw itty bitty baby leaves on a tree and this morning the cherry trees have started exploding and the willows are hazy with green and oh my god guys! you guys! It's SPRING. I want to go cavorting and gamboling and frolicking because it is SPRING ( Read more... )

A really big wheel of cheese?

Nah, how about a canopy? Over the bed or over the corner of a room. Some shawls?

I'm a really big fan of projects that involve draping, as aside from buttons (It's genetic. My grandmother worked in a clothing factory, in the button department, and the owner of the company would send her his new suits so she could remove the buttons and sew them back on herself, so that they would never come off again.) I cannot sew for the life of me.

It's a very light fabric, so I might make a tiered big skirt rather than the flared big skirts I've done. Just not any time soon.

eBay. I have been on a fabric buying binge lately and need to be stopped for my own good (it was only about $4 though).

Wow, the dress looks like it's turning out really nice (despite the blurriness of the pictures). If I were you, I would totally wear it to the afternoon wedding to show it off, even if it is a bit too formal... :-)

Great job on the dress. Love the godets and back-lacing details.

I ended up wearing something else to the wedding, because the dress got too fancy. This was a plus, as the first round of runching ended up looking to tube-dressy, and it's easy enough to undo, so I'm going to redo it and post when it's done.

Tempting! It's a light enough weight fabric that it would be a pity not to do something extravagant.
