Redefining murder

You know what we need to redefine in this country? Murder.

They did a report on this on The Daily Show. It demolished Congress' argument so completely, and so many people called their Congresscritter because of it, that the GOP is backtracking and reeling from bad publicity. The new language isn't much better and might result in the same thing anyways but it's important to know that people like you spreading the word about how horrible this was actually made a difference.

Thank you for this. I was so incoherent with rage when I first heard about all this that I couldn't properly express my horror.

It's a reminder that there is still so much work to be done, so much that needs to change--more, I fear, than I will see in my lifetime. But I'm glad there are people out there who are capable of articulating the stuff that I can't get out when I'm sputtering with anger.

Amen sister! All those nutjobs who want to restrict the definition to suit their fucked up fantasy world can go die in a fire. Or, if the universe has any justice, spend a large quantity of time around people who have suffered sexual abuse/rape. I bet most of the people behind this have never known someone who was abused or raped. This sort of situation pushes my rage button all the way up to 11.

Considering that most stats put the incidence of rape at somewhere between 1 in 4 and 1 in 6 women, they already do spend a lot of time around people who have suffered a rape, they just don't know it.
