I considered going back to my high school in Plano but didn't after talking to one of the counselors. In Plano, the roof for GPA is a 5.0, which means that I had a GPA that was above 4.0, the roof for UNT's GPA system. If I had gone back to my school district, all of my UNT classes would've transferred as 4.0s and 3.0s. In that scenario, my class rank would've dropped from the top 10% to the top 50%, if I was even that lucky. It's different for every district. Asking a counselor from your school will clear any doubts.
When I went back Rockwall Highschool for the final half of my senior year they counted anything with 3-4 credit hours a semester course and the only 5 hour course (precalculus) as a full year. They also went "well you got a C in physics but an A in physics lab....so we will count this as a B...so you have an 85" and so on with all classes with labs. Wasn't that bad but I had above a 1300 so A&M accepted me without worrying about the top 10% which I didn't make.
