Working in the software industry, raising my almost two year old as a single dad (well 50/50 co-parent, really), out riding my bike in awesome Portland, OR!
Went to grad school for molecular biology. Decided the PhD wasn't for me. Left with my Master's. Husband and I moved to Baltimore for his job at Johns Hopkins. I'm a lab manager in a pancreatic cancer lab. Applying to art schools in the fall.
So my time consists of mouse surgery, growing veggies in my garden, drawing naked people and building pinhole cameras.
work-wise: I'm a member of a socially & environmentally concerned worker-owned web hosting company (gaiahost.coop), and doing some open-source development contracting on the side.
socially: heavily involved with the burning man community in Austin, living like a rock star
family: living with my girlfriend of 2 years, getting serious & planning on moving into a newly-forming cohousing neighborhood.
About to start a PhD in Neuro after getting a Masters overseas. Working as a lab manager in a cell culture lab in between and as a part time elementary school teacher.
Trying to recover from the shock of being closer to 30 than 20 and thinking about hiring someone to carry children and be a housewife for me since I don't think I'll ever have time.
