Everything at Once

Greetings all! :)

I got Nic and Sandrine's birthday presents in the mail today. Small, but I hope you enjoy them. I think Sandrine's might make it to her in time for her birthday. Not sure about Nic's. Sorry, Nic.

Speaking of Sandrine, I started reading the book you and Lhu gave me for Christmas, Eleanor of Aquitaine. Its pretty good so far. Its interesting to read about Eleanor's grandfather deciding not to go on the First Crusade, as he'd rather take advantage of his neighbor, Count Raymond of Tolouse's, absence. It backfired; he tried taking Tolouse, and became excommunicate for violating the rights and land of a Crusader away in the Holy Land. He rued not going on Crusade (plus, Count Raymond was just a cool guy!). Anyway, much thanks again to Lhu and Sandrine. :)

And speaking of France, I watched the movie "Flyboys" on dvd tonight. The dogfights were great, of course, but I was surprised at how emotionally involving it was. It wasn't just a stupid action flick, and was actually based on true events and people. Most of it takes place in France, some of the dialogue is in French, and much of that isn't subtitled. The main love interest is a very beautiful woman. She struck me as a mix between the radiant Rachel Weisz and that one girl in the Harry Potter movies. The actress' name is Jennifer Decker, and I looked her up on IMDB. Alas, it had no biographical information on her. A very un-French sounding name, but everything she's been in (excepting Flyboys) has been French. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

SPOILER SPOILER

Such a cute relationship and such a fair lady, and...they never meet up again after their separation in the war! :(

Does anyone watch the new Battlestar Galactica? I got hooked at the beginning of this (3rd) season. I've missed so much. I ordered the mini-series and the first two seasons, and all three arrived today. Perfect timing, as the season finale was last night. Its pretty different from the original late '70's show, which I love. Its a lot sexier ("slutty" would probably be a better word), violent, and vulgar. Some of the main "good" characters do some pretty unlikable things, or are just unlikable people. Most notable of these is Col. Tigh. Anyway, this season started off great, but had a real lag in the middle. Things went downhill when they "boxed" Xena Warrior Princess (Lucy still looks great!). The season ended strongly, though. It was weird at the same time, and raised more questions than answers. Kind of disappointed at that. I'm not sure if the characters who think they are Cylons are actually Cylons, though. I hope not! *head spinning*

Yesterday in Church, I sat behind a most dreamy girl. I purposely sat behind her. LOL Yes, I've developed a sort of crush. I've been noticing this girl forever, and yet have no name yet. She's not like moon babe beautiful, if you take my meaning. She's more like naturally beautiful. Homely, but in a very very good way. She carries herself gracefully, and almost seems fragile (again, in a very good way--almost like a stereotypical lady from a Medieval troubadour's geste, who loved to have chivalrous knights serve her and do dangerous deeds for her). So anyway, it was hard to pay attention in Mass yesterday! And when she turned around to offer me the sign of peace, she was soft and pleasant to the touch. And she smiled. I nearly melted! I certainly hope I smiled back, but I can't remember, my knees were shaking with nervousness. So then, we both turn away, and I turn around to offer peace to those behind me. Wouldn't you know it, there was a moon babe Asian lady behind me. She was shorter than me, and was...ahem...sporting some very generous and lovely cleavage. What an unexpectedly pleasant surprise! But no, my crush is on the graceful girl. Its tough being lonely.

Ok, I'm soon off to bed. Take care, everyone, and I wish you all an excellent week! :)
