Who let Hedi out of the rum box? The
FFXIV stuff got updated with races, etc., ehheh. Trying to put Tarutaru into realism mode is... beyond creepy. I mean Lalafell, yeah, that's it. *cough*
The "leveling" guildleve/armory system looks totally alien and strange, but... it looks like FFXIV in general is Squenix's answer to FFXI's plague of being unable to accomplish anything solo whatsoever, and everything about the game system revolves around that. It kinda makes me shy away, but... I'm gonna have to try it because... well, just look at it! I have to try it! I don't know if it'll hold me, but I'll have to try it.
I actually haven't been paying that much attention to FFXIV compared to
SWTOR and Bioware's foray into the soulsucking realm of MMOs. I mean I don't even like Star Wars. At all. Claim sacrilege all you like. I don't. I didn't even finish the first KOTOR. But I still have to try it.
Unlike Aion and some recent others that I can just as easily take or leave, I NEED to see these two like I needed to see WAR, like I needed to see LotRO. Let's see if they can do it better. Although, I somehow doubt either game will appease the 'BOOM HEADSHOT' part of me.
I can say this for WoW, though. I can't really argue that it gets better with age. Yeah, they make drastic game breaking changes all the time, and their lore is at the mercy of some really messed up crap, but the whole team's focus has always been maximum fun for maximum populace, and I can't argue with that. I can't. Incorporating the most popular add-ons into the default UI? Just plain good sense. I'd been thinking about picking up Auctioneer again just to see the value on quest rewards. Now the default UI has that. And iLevel, too. So yeah, I hate that I can make Alliance characters on my Horde PvP server now, but that doesn't mean I didn't do it. *cough*
