I'm marching on Saturday. I'm intensely ambivalent about the name of the Slutwalk. I don't feel that 'slut' is a term I want to reclaim at all, particularly if it continues only to be applied to women

Actually, depending on the culture or faith there is more pressure for a woman of color to be chaste than woman of European descent. People bring their cultures with them when the migrate. Simply because of the abuse of women of African descent during slavery and colonization, community, religious, and family pressure could become almost brutal, especially in the fifties and in rural communities as was the one I was raised
