So I just found out who my creative writing supervisor is going to be. It's the one member of staff with whom I don't have a very good relationship. This is primarily because (I suspect) she has the biggest crush on the guy I hang around with most at uni, and she thinks I'm sleeping with him. So this should be fun. What an incredible waste of time. We spent the whole meeting listening to the lecturer read quotes from an OHP, and defining literary terms. And we still haven't been assigned supervisors. I gave her my plan, but I don't hold out much hope for useful feedback. I suspect that what I'm actually going to get is some vague, touchy-feely, suggestion ( Read more... )

So this morning I finally met my dissertation supervisor, and she's perfect; she's interesting as a person, teaches a class on magic realism, is enthusiastic about my proposal and title, and generally gave me a much needed boost about my project. Well, we're all settled in now. My loan arrived today, so we can eat and everything! I don't know if I've mentioned online, but just in case, Luke and I have moved in together in Stoke.
