I was having coffee recently with a friend that is a writer and design artist. As he read my latest draft I begin discussing my unending world of being an eclectic, self-reclusive, manic depressive personality. He said in his usual straightforward way, “Doesn’t most creative people share the same behavior traits; you will continue to exist, will you not continue to create until your last breath?
The thought behind what you have written brought this conversation to the surface and I laughed because most creative people usually find each other; such as the friends I have who are well; like me because we understand each other. Thanks for your list...
"...my unending world of being an eclectic, self-reclusive, manic depressive personality." haha... that could be my mantra... well that and in the words of another friend.., "I have realized, I piss myself off sometimes.." :)
and I used to write to relax from art. though now I sort of just fudge my way through both ;)
well that is according to all knowlege I had... butressed only through the google/yahoo/wiki links I felt like linking to this morning. I know some for certain were diagnosed, others like Darwin and VanGogh are so long ago that their diagnosis had been the subject of lively debates amoung psychological proffessional types for some time... it strikes curiosity and bears some looking at...atleast if you have enough spare time :)
Just the stigma that goes with "mentally ill" as juxtaposed to the near worship that goes with "fame and genious"... being that the two often times... are so close really strikes me as interesting.
I dunno.. at least .. I thought so...
hello again, and I have written a book.. I do that sometimes. :P
