School starts in a week. Overall this Summer has been one of the best ever- I've traveled a lot, spent tons of time with my friends, survived 4 1/2 weeks of band camp, and for once got a great tan

"I've been given one life, one chance to not fuck everything up permanantly and so far I'm not doing such a great job."
Actually, you're doing just fine. You're right, there is so much to be thankful for: You're not one of the few million people that have AIDS, you haven't been killed in gang warfare, you're not a homeless prostitute, you're not a drug addict, etc. So what if your friends don't understand you sometimes, or you attract trouble? Just remember what you have to be thankful for and keep smiling.
everyone dreams of becoming more than they actually become. thats life. but youre not living yours wrongly. like daniel said -- youre not a drug addict or anything, youre normal. and 17. youre only 1/5 done with your life. so buck up and keep living the rest of it. youre doing a splendid job.
hindsight is always 20/20. All of our problems would be solved if only we "hadn't done this" But think about it, if you could, I mean really could change some of the decisions you've made in your life however big or small, would you? You can't change the past, no matter what. And there really isn't any point in worrying about the future. We only have this moment right now, nothing else matters.
if my life can be but one testimony to my friends, then i would say the most important thing ive learned about life thus far is that you cannot dwell on the past. things happen for reaosn, whether you cna believe that or not. and i think you are a wonderful person :). you have a beautiful personality, you're very attractive. you have some of the best friends you could possibly have, and a great guy as your boyfriend. you have a good family (from what i can tell anyway), and all your needs and whatnot provided for. i jsut think what you're expereincing is a little lack of self worth. i think you just think very highly of certain quality aspects of your friends and think you are far from those qualities. what you may lack in those, you make up for in others. i mean, who else would befriend a 4'8" red headed 'leprechaun' and share with him your love for ham and pineapple pizza? hehe.
