Dude, sorry about your ex-wife being such a twat! :) I know it's not really funny. People that get rid of pets as soon as a baby comes along are asswipes. It's a cat, not a Rottweiler! Even if it was a giant dog, babies can be assimilated into the animal"s "pack" if people are willing to try. Most cats just give babies a wide berth anyway, they're squealy little tail and ear pullers, cats don't want to hang around with them.

That is going to be odd, Maddy having a little sibling. I hope The ExWife doesn't pull any stunts over this new baby thing.
