Hey, what did you think of Jo in this ep? And the possibility of future Dean/Jo? I've got to admit I wasn't as big a fan of this ep than others this season. I can't believe it, and you will laugh and laugh at this, but I MISSED SAM THIS EP. I get that having a different foil for Dean allowed us to get a million insights into his character that just aren't possible in the Sam/Dean dynamic, but still.

Oh, but I do believe it! I was doing the same thing! Dean and Jo were walking down the hall together, talking, and I'm like, 'C'mon already, let's get back to Sam! He could be having a vision, or beating something up, or, God forbid, getting beat up himself!' I keep all my eps until the DVDs come out so that I can watch them, but this one I went ahead and deleted.
Yeah. Just...this whole ep was made of disappointment. It feels like they wasted the whole 'first serial killer' story, you know? It was scary, but it so easily could have been really terrifying, and it just...wasn't. Then with Jo. Dude, I want to like her, I really do. And there were moment when she was totally awesome. But on the whole, she only reminded me that it is totally all about Dean and Sam and even if I bitch and whine about Sammy, I still want to see him there next ep.
OK, I just saw the promo for the next ep, and the 'director's cut' thing on the CW website, and all my pain just went away! Oh Kripke, I believe in you, I do I do, but next week you better deliver. :)

OK, HELL YEAH! I just watched it, too. Back to Sam and Dean. I like Dean, I really do, and I like Jo, I just didn't like the whole 'let's put them together, blablahblah'.
You were not the only one to notice, believe me. I couldn't believe it. If they'd wanted to pass off a post-mortem picture as a Holmes victim, couldn't they have picked an anonymous one? That pic of Elizabeth Stride is practically iconic. Unless they did it on purpose, for reasons unknown.
Okay, this is going to sound weird, but - I am a massive H.H. Holmes, um, not fan, BUT. He is an object of intense interest for me, ever since reading Depraved. I couldn't believe it when I saw his name on Sam's screen. At first I thought, oh! Sly hidden reference OMG, but WOW. Yeah. I was incredibly disappointed that they butchered his backstory so much. They made him sound so...typical. Killing pretty girls? Whatevah. It's like they neutered him or something. Meh

I have an unnatural obsession with Jack the Ripper, so I don't think it's weird. Unless you think my Jack the Ripper obsession is weird? 'Cause then . . . :D
I read about Holmes in Devil in the White City, and I loved that book. Have you read it? It was a bestseller and I wouldn't normally have read it, but working at a bookstore in the Chicago area, everyone asks you your opinion on such 'local' books. I remember being creeped out by that whole 'castle' that he had built with the trapdoors and the deadends (at least they got that part right in the ep).
I couldn't believe it when I saw his name on Sam's screen.I actually said, 'Hey!' and pointed. Because it's like my job and my job alone at work to remember where we shelve that book
