http://www.redshield.org/crisis/ It's sites like this Salvation Army site that make me rethink the clothes drive for right now. Except that those poor people need something to wear. Hmmmm, what to do

That does put us in a quandry. One group is telling us not to.. the next group is telling us to send stuff.
I do know they need books, toys, games in the shelters because it is very boring. But how to get them there. I think I will rethink my supplies and hold on to them.. and then send to the local salvation army in a few weeks. I have already donated to red cross not much but something and to the animal rescue. Our local animal rescue left this morning with two trailers full of cages, food and vetinarian staff to head to mississippi.
That is very nice of your friend. And she is lucky that she has you as a friend to help her.
Thanks...I was just talking to my husband about just what you wrote. Our local public broadcast radio station is doing a fund drive this weekend. I think we'll donate through them. We've manned phones for them during their own fund drives and I trust that the money will get where it needs to. I'm going to sort and save also. What's the worst that can happen they go to the Salvation Army eventually if they are not needed elsewhere? I think I'll call my vet. today. That is a great way to help. Those poor animals who are homeless also and so many will die due to drinking the now toxic water

I am taking the clothes I collected to one of the places on our list here and they can decide what to do with them....I am sure they will be sent or given to someone.....I don't want to mail them off anywhere, so I'll just trust they get to the right people....What else can we do?
