I love the chess-coloured analogy, and how the character is very trapped in it. Gorgeous work. Strange and evoking, and truly, I have missed your entries very much.

Just fantastic! Was this for the prompt cue? I think I missed if it was, but its a very well written story with lots of wonderfully descriptive terms that endears the old pawn to me. <3
