What I learned in school...

I worked quite a bit before I went back and finished my first degree. And people would always ask me what I learned? The answer is still "nothing that I wasn't familiar with before, but I did learn some good things here and there ( Read more... )

Interesting! You credit that change to school? Growing up I had an insufferable ego and it took me repeated embarrassment to finally discover it's okay to say, “I don't know.” After that, asking someone else seemed natural.

I think it was drilled into me that since I didn't have a degree, I wasn't as capable as someone with one. So regardless of how capable I really was, I would refuse help to show I didn't need it.

Now that I have one, I guess I am "as capable" as everyone else now, so the inferiority complex washed away.
