Whats the difference between a bursary and a scholarship?

Can you spend the bursary on whatever you want?

Bursaries are gifts of money for school not based on academics. They dont have to be repaid and they are usual based on character or merit or an award. Scholarships are solely based on academic merit. hope that helps!

They are both meant for school related costs, but depending on who administers them it may not matter- some require documentation as proof of costs you incur, others just give you the money.

Both do not need to be paid back, but the difference is on the requirements for receiving them: Scholarships are based on Academic Marks, whereas as Bursaries are based usually on Financial need or other more abstract qualifications (like community service, etc).
