so. somewhere in my subconscious mind, the fact that i'm afraid to go away to school and dont think i'm good enough to go to a UC, is manifesting itself in strange and frustrating ways

this is what my mother tells me. though i'm generally less inclined to listen to her on topics such as this because she's stuck in the "my daughter is the most beautiful, most intelligent, most capable person ever... because she's my daughter" mode of thinking.

hearing it from someone else, however, is hugely reassuring. like i said, i wouldnt even know what to declare as a major if not math, so even when i apply to out of state school and what not, i'm going to declare mathematics. i'm just keeping my fingers crossed.

also, if you have any schools you'd like to suggest for my out of state endeavors, i'd like to hear them. i've been looking into it, and there are some pretty decent (ie: ranked higher than cal states, and among the top 300 in the nation) out of state universities that are so cheap, out of state tuition isnt all that much more than in state for UCs.
