The stage had been set for a beautiful tragedy. The ballroom had been polished and cleaned from wall to wall and set for a grand party to start off the war that had been the talk of Tano’s newest residents lately. The black and white marble on the floor shone with its perfect polish, the candlelight glittered endlessly off the high, majestic chandeliers, and the high windows, now decorated with clean red velvet curtains, showed the majestic sunset on the blue sea beyond. It had taken a lot of work, partially for Diva, partially for those that had come to help her, but mostly for those creatures that Mem controlled. They had done most of the hard work while Diva set everything else into perfect order. Even the gardens that the balconied windows overlooked had been trimmed and cleaned to perfection to greet the guests.

Diva stood at one of those windows, pushing a curtain aside to look out at the garden with a dull expression. It would be a lie to say she didn’t care about the people here. She did like them. She didn’t want to betray them and hurt them, not really. However, Diva was a selfish woman. She wanted to live far more than she cared about another person’s feelings. That was likely why Mem had brought her in the first place, she supposed. She had sent the message out a few minutes ago to invite everyone to the opera house, and now she would just wait and greet them. Those with Mem would be safe, but Samekh’s…they could die. It was sad to think about, of course, but Diva had seen sadder. She had betrayed people before, cut their hearts to pieces, and none of it ever mattered. They would perish, she would sleep, something would happen and time would erase all her sins. It was the nature of the world. She would fade away for thirty years, and those wrongs would lose a name, lose their gravity, and in time, it would be as if they never happened at all.

But Diva smiled, brightly, cheerfully, as if nothing would happen tonight. She turned away from the window and hummed her own little tune as she glided over the marble towards the front door. She had spent hours getting ready, all to leave a final, but good impression on them all. The dress fit her perfectly, the black contrasting against her pale skin. Her hair had been styled with the expertise of almost two centuries of changing styles, looking like a model invited to a suave party. She wanted to look absolutely beautiful for this party. Not only to impress everyone else (which, honestly, was the largest factor), but also as that precious last impression. Diva came to the front oak doors and threw them open with a little smile. Now it would just be time to wait and welcome everyone inside. She hoped, that, for a little while at least, the party would be a splendid time reminiscent to those lavishly beautiful days of the court.

((ooc: 1) Here's how this will work! You make a single post here as your character arrives, and Diva will probably greet you. Then you can thread separately with other characters. If you have questions, make ooc notes. It'll make more sense when it starts~
2) This is the dress Diva is wearing, if you're curious.))
