Does no one else see anything wrong with a bunch of people from other countries stereotyping Americans as a bunch of people who stereotype people from other countries?

I expected too much of the Internets, I guess.

Countries have been stereotyping other countries forever. There are all sorts of stereotypes the Europeans fling around. America's just the broad side of a barn right now. It's "cool" to bash America.

It's all just and adult vocabulary way of saying "We're better than you."

Oh, I get that- what I don't get is why nobody bothers calling them on their hypocrisy. I'm sick of listening to other people stereotype me because of where I live for things that describe them better than it even does me (or a good number of Americans, really- sure, we have a lot of morons, but we're moronic in so many diverse ways.)

I'm pretty sure the rest of the world is really mad at us because they blame the us for emo kids, anyway.

Honestly, I'm not sure why people don't call them on it. I think perhaps people are ashamed of our country at the moment. O_< I dunno.

And yeah, I think we coined emo kids, so they're pissed. ;)

I think some people like to play "ashamed" because they think it makes them seem more intelligent or sensitive or something, without actually having to think or do anything. Like I said, America has morons, we just have a wide variety to choose from. So does the rest of the world, for that matter.

I don't blame people for being mad about the emos, though. :P

But but but, how could we look down on other people if we don't paint an entire country and culture with broad brush strokes. We might have to even- horrors!- treat them as individuals, and we obviously can't have that.

You think too much. Treat people as individuals and then they'll start thinking that they're beautiful snowflakes. Have to keep them in line somehow.
