What's with Hollywood's sudden obsession with making anime into live action or CG films? Here's what I've heard about so far (and rather than post my opinion, I'll let you decide if certain aspects are good or bad):

Dragonball: I don't really have much to say, since I've never followed Dragonball, anyway.

My personal view is that it's Hollywood being lazy and not wanting to come up with new stories, so it's easier just to license other stories and adapt it.

And yeah, it seems they've been that way for years now, what with almost everything being either a remake or an adaptation of an already successful book, TV show, or game, but the sudden focus on anime and converting it to live action or CG hits a bit close. It might not even be such a bad thing if the track record of such projects was good, but does anyone honestly expect these live action flicks to not be blandly "Americanized", or the CG ones to not look like cheap cash-ins?

I'd love to be proven wrong, but really I'd just like to see some good ol' fashion cartoons. Which reminds me, Don Bluth has expressed interest in making Dragon's Lair into a movie...
