Right now, my personal heroes are those who have an illness that is made worse by fat, such as diabetes or arthritis, and realistically do what is needed to control it without losing fat-acceptance principles and while resisting long-tern harmful strategies such as unsustainable weight loss. To me, this is the step beyond just self-acceptance into true, informed self-love in very difficult circumstances.

Also, of course, uppity fat people making a fuss in public.

Terri you are ALWAYS an inspiration. Everytime I get down because I feel attacked, I look at your journal. Im a big guy because I dont have another option (the other option involves personal badness for me and my family), but being a 400 lb guy at 5'6 can be hard with society at times. Thanks for being so active in the community! We have to all stick together. I will fight them to the bitter end :-)
