The patent on topiramate must be about to expire. Just a couple of years ago they trotted it out as a new treatment for migraines.
The trade name is Topamax. The docs I have worked with called it "Dope-a-max," because it generally has the side effect of making the people who take it slow and forgetful.
We fat people are thought to be already naturally stupid (If we were smart, we'd know how disgusting we look! And we'd know how to eat right and exercise!) and really don't need a drug that will make us artificially so.
