I'm sorry you had to see all of that. It's truly an eye-opener. The last time I went to a shelter I left bawling and I never went back... I can't handle those places. They feel like concentration camps to me.

Hubby used to volunteer his time after high school to working at the KC Animal Shelter (now closed) in Bellvue. He said it didn't used to be like that and knows how/where the county spends money. That is what made him most angry when we pulled up to the building.

I hope we don't have to ever go back unless we are there with a suitcase full of money to change that and the other County run shelters :(

I love the idea and won't let it die that someday, we can change what is happening to these wonderful creatures.

Most people spend a week trying to find their pets through other means, it makes no sense they only hold them 72 hours :(
