Hmmm.

I did a surgery rotation for the first time today.

Some of the procedures were minor - some major.

Blood doesn't really look that thick when it's fresh. Sometimes, it's just so thin, like perfectly colored Koolaid.

Wow man. So on a level of 1 - 10, how scary was it? Even though I want to be a doctor I still get week kneed at the sight of injuries, probably something I'll have to get over lol

Well, since I'm no surgeon or doctor - just the radiology person who takes pics with c-arm and fluoro, I'm sure it's not as scary as if I were the one doing the procedures. Less pressure. But it's really, really fascinating to watch. I was a little uncomfortable for the first one, which was a cysto procedure, but that was because there was an 40-yr man with his legs up in stirrups spread wide. ;-_- And the rod they stuck up his... Ow. Anyway...then they went up to his ureters, and it was cool watching them blast the kidney stone with a laser then scoop out the debris with a basket.

I watched some ports and gallbladders, today. It's not particularly scary for me, but I don't really get squicked or sick over things that are in a controlled environment like that. Seeing a man getting cut carefully with a scapel is different that seeing his get cut open in daily outside life due to trauma. It's not so bad, especially when you can look at it from a mechanical perspective. ^_^
