[So in the last week, Tan has Admitted Things to Herz, gone shooting (okay, he's not amazing, but he can hit his targets okay), and screwed around with the ship's doctor (no, not the robot. Egad.). All in all, birds aside, things are going okay for him at the moment, so he's just going to sit in Sergei's (since he's allowed in here again and all ( Read more... )

[Bennett is kind of desperate for some food. He's been avoiding eating because everything's too WEIRD, what the hell, why would peanut butter taste like olive oil, seriously, boat? Beyond that, though, he's not in a great mood, he's bummed about.... well, everything. He's starting to notice an irrational change that happens before his transformations: Bennett finds himself somewhat more confident that at other times. Assuming the scheduling will stay the same, he's due to change again on Thursday. (Why he was now changing every two weeks was beyond him.) But, he's really only had two times to observe the personality change, and was approaching his third ( ... )

[He found some Crown Royale that tastes like Guinness! This is very weird, but perfectly acceptable.

He glances up when Ben approaches. Yeah, okay, still not his favorite person in the world, but after everything that happened, he kind of feels like they've come to a slightly uneasy truce. He can be civil. He can try anyway.]

Don't touch the vodka, it tastes like peas.

Ooo-okay, I'll, uh, take your word on that.

[He's about to settle a few seats over when he catches Tanvir's smell. Alcohol, the weird, mixed foods-- the smell of Herz and gunpowder-- not that Bennett would know, he hates guns, as does the Marrow clan as a whole-- but there's something else.

Some smell of another man. And sweat, and blood and-- that distinct musky smell that Ben is always a little embarrassed, totally red-faced to think about.

And that musky smell doesn't smell like Herz.

Tanvir's been sleeping with someone else. What... what the hell? Why would you ever? He stares for a minute, struck dumb.

And then, the inexplicable need to catch him on this kicks in. He's emboldened by the newer, more dominant instincts. To put it shortly: Bennett has suddenly found himself with a wealth of courage and a chip on his shoulder.

His voice comes out shaky, barely hiding the newfound, uncharacteristic anger simmering beneath its (admittedly nasally) tones. He'd be mad, normally, sure-- why the fuck would you EVER cheat on Herz? ( ... )

[What?

No, seriously, what? Where the fuck did that come from?

Tan just stares at Bennett for a few seconds, too busy being baffled by the sudden line of questioning to respond in any way.

His next thought is "How does Bennett even know?" followed by "Oh, right. Werewolf. Dumbass, he can probably smell it." followed again by "...but I took a shower, what the hell." But he doesn't actually say any of these things. What he says is--]

That is none of your goddamn business.

[Because Tanvir does not kiss and tell.

Unless you're Cecil, but really, that was a special case and also not the point.]
