Something about Malik and Altair being domestic never fails to get me, every time. ;_; I'm familiar with your writing from AO3 (and were internet bookmarks as prone to wearing out as real bookmarks I assure you the ones to your stories would be well-thumbed) but this is the first time I've read this one, and every line of it is lovely. I like the idea of Altair doing his own laundry and being fussy about it (Though I imagine the habit got started because he didn't trust anyone else with it, whatever else he might say).

Favorite lines:

I like the allusion to a previous history between them, and the near-wistfulness in Malik's thoughts.

Just like that, they were back in the bureau. I liked this line particularly in the context it's in because it really works to bring that mental image to the fore, the way the laundry drops to the floor and interrupts an otherwise suspended, intimate moment
