The closer to the hand the more it hurt. But tattoos (or at least small tattoos) aren't very painful.

It looks great! My three tattoos weren't very painful but they're on my upper arm, shoulder blade, and lower back respectively so I wondered if yours was more painful because it was close to your hands!
