Recently a co-worker flew to New York to see an off-Broadway musical version of the story, and the other day said that it is moving to Broadway. Additionally, Hollywood is "remaking" it with Jeseka Lang as the mother, Big Edie, and Drew Barrymore as Little Edie, the middle-aged daughter. I'm not surprised people at your store know of the documentary, it's pretty popular "among the gays." ;)

No, I doubt there will be anything as fun as the Tupperware Lady song to sing along to (smiles), but Grey Gardens is full of "lines." It opens with Little Edie saying, "Mother and I got in a terrible fight this morning. She wanted me to come out in a kimono." As she says that, she's wearing a sweater tied around her head, pantihose over shorts, and a sweater safety-pinned around her waist as if it were a skirt. I wish I could find an image of it, but Google turns up many, many images and I don't want to wade through them all.
