[Action for 726 Anderson.]

[One thing was certain the moment Luke woke up: this was not future London. Instead, he found himself in an unfamiliar bed in an unfamiliar room in a very unfamiliar town. The last thing he remembered was he, the Professor, Flora, Inspector Chelmey, and Barton all taking the time machine in the clock shop to meet up with ( Read more... )

[Later that evening, once Luke has "settled in" to his new living arrangements a bit more, he may realize that there is still another family member he hasn't yet met. The photos scattered around the home indicate that Luke has a brother. A creepy one.

Said brother has been gone for most of the day and upon returning home, notices that something is different. The droned human-Terezi is missing and there's a new face in the family photos. Curious, Slugger decides to search for the new addition to the "family" and begins to wander through the house.]

Our fake mom.

[Slugger hands back the notes.]

You've been here before?

I suppose so, I don't remember anything about it.

That happens...

[Resting a golden baseball bat on his shoulder, he moves away from Luke looking somewhat thoughtful.]

Did Death tell you everything you wanted to know?

He explained a lot, but I just don't understand what we're all doing here in the first place.

No one told you about Lucy Smith?

We're a little girl's toys in a made up town. Lucy is that girl.

We're toys for a girl named Lucy Smith?

[A nod. Alright, it's about time he showed you, Luke.]

Follow me.

[Slugger will wait near the door for a moment before stepping out.]

[Luke looks back down at his notes, gets up and then follows Slugger.]

[By now he's at the top of the staircase, which he then quickly descends. When Luke reaches the bottom, Slugger will be waiting for him in the next room where a tall bookcase stands up against the wall. Next, he'll begin to pull books from the shelves, seemingly at random. There is nothing special about the books themselves: a world atlas, a dictionary, a cookbook, an encyclopedia letter P; and they are dropped onto a stack on the floor.]

They don't leave big clues---

[He kneels beside the stack and begins flipping through the topmost book with purpose.]

---only small ones.

[Luke curiously peaks over his shoulder, trying to see what he's flipping through.]

I guess it would make it much harder to figure out if they left obvious clues...

[He turns to a page that clearly isn't a part of the book and pulls it out---a pamphlet. Inside, the key words are circled, including names and especially the phrase "neurological emulation construction".

From the other books, he pulls several other items, some of which are handwritten copies of other documents, presumably in Slugger's own handwriting. He'll offer them for Luke's perusal.

It's all probably too much for Luke to take in at the moment, but that's okay. Slugger's intention was mostly just to show him that pieces of the truth exist and some of those pieces are right here.]

[He looks them over, not really understanding any of the information he's taking in and it shows.]

Westport, Ivanovich...gosh...

Do you mind if I spend a few days looking over these documents? Where did you get these from anyway?

[Slugger shakes his head in response to the first question.]

Various sources. People found them at different times in different places.

Edward knows more about Westport than I do. He was there.

He was, was he? I'll be sure to ask him.

[A pause.]

But I'm still a bit confused...if the town loops, how was there a Westport?

There's a highway that leaves from Mayfield. Sometimes, other towns open along the highway. Most times there's nothing and it circles back to Mayfield.

I don't know how Edward got to Westport. One night he just vanished.

[There was also a strange statue of an angel in the study that night but Slugger won't mention that. Details.]
