[This is probably the most cheerful he's been in a few weeks actually. By now, he's already traced an outline of what he wants to carve, and is carefully cutting a hole at the top to remove the insides of the pumpkin. Usually his dad would do this part, but since he wasn't here in Mayfield, Luke figures it can't be that hard.]
I'm carving some pumpkins for Halloween! I thought they'd look nice.

I seem to remember this from last year. Was a lot of candy and hyper children involved?

[And he just tugs the lid of the pumpkin off once he's done carving the top of it, looking at all the gooey insides he has to scoop out. Oh yes, this will be the fun part.]
