Chapter 4
Summary: Sometimes Starscream's pride isn't at all good for him...

Warning: actually just a bit of fallout, this chapter has no new abuse :)

A/N: Surprise! Yes, I'm posting early - couldn't be avoided, but I'll assume no-one's complaining ^_^

Wow, so that was the reason for Devastator being there and Starscream being missing. Never would've guessed.
These Decepticons really make me feel for them. Good work!

Yup. That was why Devastator turned up at the Ark, alone, and why Starscream was unaccounted for that day.

It's a hard life being a Decepticon, and particularly hard for Starscream and his trine.

Thanks ^_^

OHHH so we're actually right back at the beginning of the timeline, not in the end. This is Transformers Pulp Fiction, with all the crazy sex and violence included. Poor Starscream, but my pity for him is sort-of mixed with a strange grudging respect. The fact that he can go toe-to-toe verbally with Megatron, whip up a battle strategy for Hook while simultaneously serving his own agenda against Megatron while suffering from a medically induced hangover and vomiting his tank's contents all over the floor is kind of amazing. For Starscream, it's just another day at the office.

I look forward to the third in the series!

Yup, this was all just setup. And once the plotbunnies finally let me wrangle the next sequence into line we'll be able to move forward.

Starscream is pretty impressive, in a somewhat nauseating and frustrating sort of way. He got himself into this mess, and he's not doing a lot to get himself out of it, but he isn't a total victim in any sense. He has goals, and he achieves enough of them to feel his efforts are worthwhile, in spite of the costs.

The third *will* come... now that I've got some more time to write, it'll help! I'm working on it.
