Still alive! (just...)
No fic right now, I'm afraid, nor any for the foreseeable short term, but I am still out here somewhere!
Truly no need to read this unless you're curious about my long silence.
Last November (i.e. the last time I posted) was a crazy month with work and family, as were December and January, but I had high hopes that things would settle down after that. Not so - in early February I discovered I was pregnant... and then within 24 hours I came down with a horrible virus that kept me in bed for 2 weeks and really knocked me off work for nearly 6.
By then morning sickness had really taken hold and between trying to keep up with work and dealing with that I wasn't really getting anything done at all.
So much for "first trimester only", I didn't really start regaining energy until about week 28. I had a couple of good weeks and then the next shoe dropped. I've had severe indigestion (which I now understand is far more like a heart attack than a bit of gas - really not fun at all) and gallstones that have landed me in hospital twice so far.
Ah the joys of pregnancy!
Baby is due at the end of the month, so it's now just a waiting game to see if I can stave off gallstone attacks until then.
Thank you so much to those who thought of me on my birthday. It wasn't a happy day, I'm afraid: I ended up being rushed to hospital (3 hours drive away) and spending three days there, missing all the friends and family who had come to visit for the weekend to see me. *facepalm* But I'm back on my (unsteady) feet for now and just hoping that a very restricted diet regime will save me from any more such fun in the next couple of weeks.
I do occasionally poke my nose back into the fandom to read, and I do still want to write, I just don't have the energy right now. Perhaps 2015 will be a better year.
