Blargh, I feel weird. Kinda felt weird all day. Ever since the tempeh, maybe. Which I'm suspecting is supposed to be spelled "tempei" but Americans are just too stupid to even try. At least we spell karaoke right...don't we? Even if we butcher how it's pronounced

I accept that the masses don't want to try to adapt their tongues or minds to different methods of speech. But to that point, I don't think it's kosher to modify the pronunciation of words without changing how they're spelt, as well. So in the end, I appreciate that we spell tempei "tempeh", because it doesn't matter how we spell a foreign word and at least people are pronouncing it near-correctly.
We spell karaoke "karaoke", and call it "CARE-EE-oh-kee" or whatever, and that just gets on my nerves. Probably only because I speak a minor amount of Japanese.
I also hate the word "colonel."
