So on Friday I got a call from my tarantula mentor with a huge favor. Huge because he had a G. rosea rescue that needed a home and fast. He already has over 50 tarantulas in his personal collection, and his wife told him she would make him take up golf if he got any more. Trust me, golf would be torture for this man. So I now sit here the proud

I've unfortunately seen T's deal with worse and it makes me sick. G. roseas are tough little buggers, and definitely subtle beauties.

Poor thing! I can never understand how people think it's okay to let inverts exist in such crappy conditions. I mean, yes, they can survive without food or water for months on end, but that doesn't mean they should. Humph.

I've seen such horrible treatment to T's it makes me sick. The worse was when some guy dropped two off at my mentor's house IN THE SAME BOX. One was an A. bicoloratum that had killed a smaller B. albopilosum. The A. bicoloratum didn't live much longer either; he was just too dehydrated.

I am glad I am too; I've become very fond of her now. I'm so breaking my code, lol!

This post warms my heart...and my G. Rosea was my 1st T, and she has such personality, so I have quite a soft spot for them :)

I'm glad you warmed up to little Piranha so quickly :)

She is definitely a keeper, but I wouldn't be surprised if she'll be my only G. rosea. I still can't get on a soapbox and preach about what good beginner T's they make, but Piranha is pretty cool. Great display spider, she's like a mini speed racer, lol!
