Hey, thanks. I appreciate that... I just felt very down that day. You know, usually, everything is not so bad, but this is only because I am not generally taking a closer look at my life and then everything is fine. However, that day i did look at my life and thought, GAH, I am 28 and I have achieved nothing whatsoever. I know it'll be fine, somehow. I don't actually know how, but I know it will be fine... I am not terminally ill, I have a room, I have the internet... the thing is only, I tend to climb high and then, the closer to the top I get, the more scared i am that, when I fall, I will definitely break my neck.
And the DPhil is bloody high. However, I know now what I want and I am sure somehow I can get it and be happy. I think I know how to be happy without a man and much money, but that's a start, right?

thanks again for your kind words... they really did help. *HUGS*

heheh well i'm glad you're able to keep some perspective, because it seems so easy in academia to just loose it ... i'm sure you also know countless examples of academics who have no perception of what is 'reality' for most sane humans! anyway, yeh, i understand the fear of failure & the insanity that goes with it :)

yup we'll finish one day! as a friend of mine says, only boring people finish their thesis on time (yeh!), and to quote another 'brilliance can't be rushed' (right on!). And we will be able to feel very proud of our accomplishment!

anyway, i'm glad i was able to be of some assistence, though i know i wasnt telling you things you didnt already know ... we all have some days where that perspective can slide through our fingers .. like sand through the hour glass ... no wait, that's "Days of our Lives" *snort ( ... )
