Sherlock is filming. I dislike spoilers, so I've thus far avoided looking at the setlock photos and speculation. However, I did end up clicking on an article on The Mary Sue that shows two of the costumes. I have some thoughts about the costumes themselves (no information or speculation on the plot.)
I was looking at Setlock pictures (and learned the thing was called Setlock) from the first day of shooting, but I hadn't seen any photos of Mary yet, so this is awesome. I was worried that she wasn't in the special.
And, my god, those are magnificant boots. Love the jaunty hat, too. I can see why ladies do steampunk: the glorious footwear.
Clearly, Victorian!Mary is also a bad ass assassin and she's dressed to kill. :-)

Oh man, I would have thrown a fit if Mary had been left out of the special. Not that my fit would have made any difference whatsoever, but it would have been the principle of the thing.
Steampunk fashion is often phenomenally good-looking, IMHO. I wish I had more occasions to wear it (and more money to buy it!)

Ha, indeed! Figuratively and literally, because you could hide a lot of weapons in that outfit.
I haven't been following news on the special at all, so do we know if this is a fancy dress party or is it actually a Victorian AU? Feel free to not answer if it's spoilery.

I have no idea. I don't think anybody knows at this point, but I have been actively avoiding discussions in order to remain as unspoiled as possible.
