Just heard the "announcement' and am extremely bummed and sad:(
Yet, I understand his decision. It's always hard to move on to something else, especially from a place that you've grown to love and have gotten so comfortable with, with people that you really do care about. But you have to do what's best for you, and if that's what's best for him, so be it:)
It seems to work with the storyline though... For me, when I saw "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey's End", it almost seemed like the coming of an end. It pretty much wrapped up the characters and storylines from series 2-4.
I will very much miss him and the 10th Doctor.:( The 10th Doctor was really the first one that I watched that got me into the show. I think 10 will always be "my" Doctor.
I'm quite curious to see the upcoming specials and how they bring about series 5...how does the 10th Doctor leave? What circumstances cause it? Are we going to see previous Doctors? Who is going to be the 11th Doctor? Where will it go from there? It is exciting in it's own way. I'll definitely still be watching.
And at least we still have the 10th Doctor for another year!
