Veronica, Dear Santa and Remake Hell...

So, despite being sick for a week now and despite getting up at the unearthly hour of 4am to be at work this morning, I'm really looking forward to tonight's mini-finale of Veronica Mars.  Hopefully, I'll be able to stay awake for it.  (Not so much looking forward to the hiatus, though.)  My internet at home has been pretty unreliable the past few ( Read more... )

Uhg, remakes. Occasionally they do rock, but I think it's much better to remake (better) That Which Was Crappy, than to potentially screw up something good.

Awww... a sappy Christmas special. I'm a Scrooge when it comes to Christmas specials or movies. I still haven't seen It's a Wonderful Life all the way through, I've never seen Miracle on 34th Street, etc. (I'm not even sure I've seen all of a Christmas Carol, even though I'm referencing it in this post.) My favorite Christmas movie is Die Hard. And the real-life stuff like the show you're watching I only watch by accident. Does this make me weird? (I never believed in Santa either...)

I hope you like the VM mystery conclusion.

Remaking that which is crappy is the ONLY excuse for doing a remake, in my opinion. This shot-by-shot business makes no sense to me. I mean, really...why? Just so it'll have a different cast and appeal to people who don't want to watch "old" movies?

Heh. I thought I was the only person who'd never seen either It's a Wonderful Life or Miracle on 34th Street all the way through. I do have to admit to a soft spot for White Christmas, though. Haven't seen it since I was a kid, but I did enjoy watching it every year back then.

And for the record, Die Hard is an awesome Christmas movie. :)
