Thanks for the quotes!! I'm hoping you are right about the content of the episode. I am really hoping that Clark is the one to encourage Booster to have a little humility. If Booster is going to tell Clark that he needs to put on a shiny suit and get out there....I hope he does it in a way that is really bad advice. There is no way that Booster should be presented as being wiser than Clark at this point and I'll be angry if he is.
I know you are totally right. LOL I'm gun shy with Smallville. However, my guess is the same as yours. I think Booster will probably be shown to be totally vain and full of himself. Clark will probably be the voice of selfless humility yet he will recognize that he does need to have enough confidence to put himself out there.
Superman is such an interesting paradox to me. Because Clark is so, so humble. And I love that about him so much. Naturally, he doesn't ::want:: attention and yet the public needs him so badly---they need to believe in him--so he has to step outside of himself and accept that attention to be the hero the people need. I love that about him.

I just can't imagine that Geoff Johns would do that. It's not who Booster is. A lot depends on exactly where his timeline intersects Clark's in the Smallville universe, but I seem to remember GJ saying we would be seeing early Booster, rather than who he is now in comics continuity.
I really want to love this episode. *fingers crossed*
Thank you for pointing out that Booster is all about promotion and commercialization, because I had a feeling some people were gonna call foul on that bit of dialogue. All one has to do it watch Booster's episode of JLU "The Best Story Never Told" to get that feeling about him, lol. But this was a great interview, thanks so much for posting. Love what he said about Tom :D
Thanks so much for transcribing Martsolf's interview. I completely agree with your synopsis on Booster and how what he is saying to Clark will be presented in the episode. It makes complete sense to the character.
Some great stuff about Tom, down to those welcoming quotes and I love hearing that they were roasting Justin. LOL I'm glad Tom thinks so highly of this episode and I really can't wait for the episode now. I'm a big GF fan and love his writing, but I couldn't get behind introducing two more DC characters so late into the final season. I'm always hopeful that GF will give something great and unlike some who didn't like Absolute Justice because it wasn't enough about Clark, my superhero lovin heart still thought it was fantastic.
I hope you are right about how we should read into what this guy, EM, says of the Clark/BG interaction. I'm so SICK of everyone lecturing Clark!I don't really like GJ (he doesn't like much to write for Clark/Superman, that's clear to me) so I hope he won't take advantage of the episode to sing BG's praises at Clark's expense.
I love what EM says of Tom. Thanks a lot for the transcript!
Thanks for the transcript. What's not to love about Tom? *sigh*
As many others I really hope that we don't get another lecture for Clark. He doesn't need them any more, and Clark should be the one doing the inspiring. Regrettably, I have no faith in any SV writer, especially not Johns, who essentially sidelined Clark in AJ.
I also hope that Tom is right about Booster being awesome. After all, it seems that he thought Patriot would be "huge", and as we know the writing was atrocious...
Finally: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Have a great day, and let me tell you that I appreciate your unrelenting Tom compilations very much.
