Followed fig's rec. Oh, what a wonderful story! I love how you write Sam's thoughts:

She could go to the commissary and find something sugary or chocolaty or even blue and comforting that way, but feeling like a ghost in company was even worse than feeling like a ghost alone.

And how she thinks Teal'c is there to comfort her, but he came for another reason, but he is still wanting to comfort her.

And as much as I adore Daniel, I've always wondered why the Asgard didn't name a ship after Sam too.

Excellent story! Damn, fig rec'ced this so now I can't use it for the Sam Carter category. Heh. ;-)

Personally, I could never figure out why the Asgard named their ship after Daniel when it was Sam who had just saved their planet.

I am firmly convinced that the Asgard named ships for *all* the members of SG-1, including Jonas. We only just happened to see Jack's and Daniel's.
