*&^%$#@!!!!!!!!!!!

Today was the last day of class. Thank god.

It also means that I have a HUGE International Business project due Sunday (via email). Two of my group members have not sent me their sections. *explodes* Another of my group members told me, when I asked him about his resources, "Oh, I just brainstormed." Excuse me? You what?!?! This is a 30 page ( Read more... )

I could have done the whole thing by myself and it would have been less stress!

There's always next time for that... or get new group members.

Tomorrow, once I finish the International Business project, I am getting drunk. Or maybe before I finish it, depending on how infuriated I am.

I vote for before. I seriously need to get drunk myself, and soon. It's been a while. And I forgot to buy the DiSorrano Amaretto today!! *le sigh*

Actually, I couldn't get new group members, sadly. They were assigned, and I was stuck.

Ack! All of this reminds me of why I despise group projects and refused to work in groups unless it was absolutely required and non-negotiable. Because unless I was working with Bobby (who could be denied certain privileges for not pulling his weight >:^)))) then I always always ALWAYS ended up doing at least 90% of the work. In eleventh grade, we had to design a magazine about a decade; my group had the 1910s. I spent three hours on one f*cking drawing not to mention all the rest of the artwork, adverts, a couple of articles... and my group members hand in a classified ad a piece and want to share in my grade. Or when I took Risk and Resilience in uni and we had to put together a presentation, and my "group" refused to make plans to work on it ... so I did it myself. And laughed my ass off, a week before the project was due, when they expected their names to be on the project when I did 100% of the work and I broke the bad news to them. Oooops. Well, y'all should have thought of that when I asked to schedule a meeting about the ( ... )

Yes, this was unfortunately a required group project - one of three actually. It's one thing to assign a group project, but when ***55%*** of my grade is contingent on other people's effort???? I think that is incredibly unfair.

I cannot even begin to say how infuriated and stressed I have been concerning this project and the class/professor in general. I don't think a day has gone by in the past six weeks that I haven't ranted at my roommate about it.

Ohhh Finrod!!!! *holds up glass and sways slightly* Come 'ere prettieee......

*raises glass of Dr Pepper & coconut rum* For Dawn Felagund! And Christmas! And no projects! And snow! And rum!

;)

The worst bit is, IF I get a high A on this project and the final, I might pull an A in the class...The tiny flicker of hope is almost worse...

Do you do evaluations of professors at the end of the term (I hope)? I'd definitely make this part of the evaluation. I hate to whine, "It's not fair!" but ... well, it's not fair. 55% of your grade should not depend on the efforts of others.

Have you addressed the issue to the professor? Maybe do that as well, like, "Hey, we're at T-0 and the people I have to work with either haven't turned in work or have turned in work so shoddy that I've basically had to re-do it." Then, if you get a poor grade, the professor can't say that s/he wasn't aware of the situation. You may have more of a leg to stand on in getting more credit for the work you've done. If you don't get much of a reply, go to the department chair. Seriously. You will be judged on your college transcript for the rest of your life, so you have every right to get a grade that accurately reflects your performance in the class, not the performance of other people.

I'm slightly more awake, slightly more logical, and slightly less rantish today ... but I would not let this ( ... )

We do evaluations, but I forgot to put that. Damn! I did fill up the entire comments section though, which I never do. And I'm going to turn in another peer evaluation form with lots of annoyed comments.

Lol, you're welcome. I have a feeling I'll be highly peeved again by tonight, so if you feel like getting rid of Finrod again for awhile...;)

BTW, Mae says (to Finrod), "Do you ever drink anything that does not contain alcohol?"
